This sweet image I found on someones blog. Sorry I can't remember who it was. This was a book, that has been passed down in the family, and Santa's suit is done in velvet. I just loved the image.
These little cuties were a thrift find. the little plastic roofs were all yellowed, and most of the glitter gone. Well, I brought them home, and with a little TLC, and a new coating of glitter, I think they look really cute! Inside, the figures are hard plastic, with little sprigs of plastic holly.
This pretty figurine is Napco Christmas angel I purchased on e-bay. They can be quite pricey, so I will watch for them year round.

Next, I would like to show you this set of Christmas figurines made by Lefton. I bought them from e-bay. They seem to be a very popular item.
These I found at a flea market this past summer for $1 each. They are made of plastic, and can be hung on the tree. The one on the left has a tag on it that says Japan. the Santa is a very soft plastic. I thought they were kind of neat.

Here are all of my moms original baking things, that bring back such wonderful memories for me. These things date back to the 50's (yes, I'm old) lol or older. These were the aluminum measuring cups, and bowls that we used to make these delicious cookies for Christmas. The wonderful smells, and the Christmas music playing in the background while we baked.
These are one of the kinds we would make. They were called Molasses Crinkles. You would roll them into a ball, and sprinkle a few drops of water on them, before popping them into the oven. That is the trick to giving them the crackle effect. Oh, I can just smell them now. (sniffling a tear)
These were somewhat of another kind we made. Christmas wreaths made with the cookie press that ejects the dough. She would carefully squeeze them out onto the baking pan, and then place a few little pieces of candied cherries for a bow on top. I don't have the original dough press, but I wish I did. :( She stored them all in round cookie tins, and stacked them in the dining room next to the buffet, so we wouldn't eat them all before Christmas. I always managed to sneak a few though. These are wonderful memories for me, of baking with my mom as a young girl. Today, I still love to bake cookies at holiday time, and I have 3 daughters in which to do it with. Have a wonderful holiday season, and thanks for coming by to share some memories with me.

These little guys I picked up at a yard sale for .25 each! I found a shoe box, and started rummaging through it, and the woman said "oh anything in there is .25" . I was thrilled when I found these. I wish there had been more like them. thanks for stopping by! See you next week!
This teacup is in the pattern called Bethany, and is made in England. The pattern is the same as the little tea set only the blue flowers are not as vibrant. You can click on the pictures to make them bigger. See my little tea spoon with the teapot on it? My niece sent this to me for my birthday. I have never seen spoons with little teapots on them.
This is a little Limoges trinket box, given to me by my daughter for my birthday also. It is about 2" high, and is just so cute. I love anything with a teacup!
If you flip it over, the bottom opens up. How cute is that?

Of course some of us will continue to keep our treasures in our favorite tins. That favorite one that belonged to Grandma that we played with when we were kids. A favorite thing to do on a rainy or cold day. Sorting them by colors or sizes kept us busy for hours. Maybe you had a favorite dress, and just loved the buttons. My mom always cut off the buttons before discarding any old pieces of clothing. We don't do that too much today, with thrift shops, and garage sales, and all of the recycling going on. This is a creamer my daughter found in an antique store, and bought for my birthday. It is marked Elizabethan, fine bone china England. I love the shape of the spout, and pretty roses.
These witches are all ready in their black hats. I printed this image out from the computer onto some heavy card stock paper, and popped it into a frame with some scrap book decorations.
This little Halloween tree, I picked up at a thrift store for $4.00. I have seen some in the magazines, and on-line and they can be quite pricey. I added some orange lights, a few do dads,
This is my Halloween village. You can click on any image to make it bigger. A few of the things light up, but it's hard to see in the picture. Little pumpkins along the fence light up. The pumpkin house, and the skeleton sitting next to it. I have this set up in my dining room.
I love vintage types of decorations for Halloween, and I have found some inexpensive ones in Home Goods. The ghost book I found in a used bookstore.

First, I would like to share some lady head vases. Lady head vases were popular in the 50's-60's, and were sold in flower shops. There is a hole in the back of them to hold flowers.They were made by Inarco, Napco, and some just have numbers on them. Today, they are highly collectible, and can be quite pricey depending on the style and maker. They can be found in antique shops, flea markets, and e-bay. These I acquired from my in -laws who also loved to scour flea markets, and garage sales. She picked these up for a song. They are made of porcelain,
Here is a fun item hubby and I found in an antique shop last week. You probably have to be a baby boomer to guess what this is. he he (see the end of the post, and I will tell you what it is)
Here is another fun item dear daughter has modeled for us. he he This is vintage, made of layers of lace, and kind of looks like a lampshade. Can you guess what it is? It is a little cap, made to wear at night over your pin curls. You twisted sections of hair into little rings, secured them with hair clips or bobby pins, and then put on your little cap to hold them in. I thought it was neat.
Inside has the prettiest roses in it too!
This teacup is a Lady Carlyle pattern. I believe this also comes in blue. I found this in Home Goods, and they had a whole set of dishes that matched in this pattern. Wow, what a lucky find!
This pretty teapot I found at Marshall's. It was so cheap, I couldn't pass it up. It doesn't have any name on it, but I love the pattern. The pink stand I found in Burlington coat factory store. They have some of the prettiest home things in there. I have had this for a few yrs now, and I have a larger one that matches. I used them at holiday time.
